Kanheri Caves – a photo journey

kanheri

This is my first post under the photography category. After many weeks of plan I finally decided to go to Kanheri Caves at Sanjay Gandhi National Park at Borivli, Mumbai. The weather was a bit cool indicating the start of the winter season. I took a bus which is a facility provided by the National Park to the visitors. The bus dropped me at the base of the Kanheri Caves. Now let me take you in short about Kanheri caves.
Kanheri Caves are a number of rock-cut Buddhist caves located in Mumbai, India. The caves date back to the 1st century BC. When a I went through the literature of the caves it stated that there are around 109 caves.
Inscriptions found in the caves refer to the area as Krishnagiri; Krishnasila; Kanhasila or Kanhagiri, which means “Black Mountain” or “Black Rock”. “Kanheri” appears to have been derived from the Sanskrit word Krishnagiri, which means “Black Mountain”. The caves have basic amenities like stone bed, cisterns to store water, resident halls carved in the rock and also abundant natural water. The caves have excellent carvatures in the rock with huge statue of Buddha standing on both the sides of the caves.
I took some excellent snaps of the beautiful carvatures and the nearby surroundings. I spend around 2 hours at the caves watching the carvatures, surroundings and capturing some moments in my digital camera. For Kanheri Caves and other photos click here.

This technique offers a lot of advantages, and applies particularly well to Shockwave because it allows for minimal loading time. Read more here.

It also explains the difference between the Flash Actionscript version 1.0 and Flash Actionscript version 2.0 and two sections: Data and Data Types and Syntax and Language Fundamentals. Further the article also explains the concepts of Object Oriented Programming.
